Here is my feeble attempt to capture the first few minutes of FB. It started to build up orders at around 10:30am ahead of the scheduled retail open. The total volume for the day was over 580M shares (580,587,742) and it closed at $38.42.
The heavy volume was expected since FB generated the highest retail demand in the history of IPOs. I thought the early rejection in the $43 area was interesting and price quickly moved to the expected $38 level.
Congrats to the Facebook team!
ps: These high valuations remind me of an Internet bubble deja vu!
